Remark: This article describes the BASIC command QUIT in Commodore BASIC 7.0 or higher.
Type: Command General Programming-Syntax: QUIT
The command QUIT has no task and only triggers the error message when called. ?UNIMPLEMENTED COMMAND ERROR.
It is unknown what task was originally intended for this command, perhaps it was intended to end a FOR-NEXT loop prematurely (similar to EXIT ending a DO-LOOP loop).
Presumably it could also be used to exit the BASIC interpreter or a mode, e.g. the C64 mode. According to the website mentioned below, this command was implemented for the Commodore LCD version of BASIC (BASIC v3.6), which was not released.
