Information

Konami‏‎ was founded in 1969 as a jukebox rental and repair business known formally as Konami Industry Co., Ltd. (コナミ工業株式会社 Konami Kōgyō Kabushiki Gaisha). The company name Konami are the first letters of the four founders: Kagemasa Kozuki, Yoshinobu Nakama, Hiro Matsuda and Shokichi Ishihara.
Over time Konami branched out into several entertainment related niches. It is best known as a software company that produced a large number of arcade classics of the period. Well recieved arcade machines were later ported to several home systems in the 1980's and 1990's including the C64 and Amiga.

As was common practice for the time, some of Konami's ports such as Yie Ar Kung-Fu were done in house while others such as Frogger were ported under license by third parties.
