The Text Screen Editor, Char Screen Editor or Screen Designer is a part of the C64 Studio and an easy painting and character set tool, which lets you build easily text screens using either standard or user defined characters. Screens can be also exported or imported with different options and methods e.g. like assembler, BASIC DATA or programm code.
Description[edit | edit source]
You open the Char Screen Editor in the menu "Window" by a mouse click in the C64 Studio. After activation you see a V at the tool Char Screen Editor.
Now you have open the tool window Text Screen Editor in the C64 Studio (also as register) and the following main registers (menu):
- Screen: This is the Text Screen Designer, which you can easily painting text screens in differents variants by mouse and tools.
- Charset:This is the Charset Editor, which you can easily modify the charset.
- Export: This is the Export function for text screens and charsets.
- Import: This is the Import function for text screens and charsets.

The import function allows text screen and charsets files from the followong files:
- from binary file
- from character set file
- character set from assembly
- from assembly
- from BASIC PRINT statements
- set default character sets
