Talk:Rombachs C64-Spieleführer

Copying the German page directly onto the English site is pointless. It will encourage the generation of new pages that are useless until translated. Can we please avoid this? Camailleon's translation work in this area is excellent and should be the standard for the English site.--Charliefourzero 22:31, 1 September 2014 (CEST)

That is only my opinion:
Sometimes it is better, to start with the informations that we have from our German C64-Wiki project.
Sorry, often I haven't enough time to finish the work. But the C64-Wiki project and each article should be edit in team work. So I see no problem to start new articles, which are unfinished or not perfect!
We have for unfinished articles templates, that remark what is to do.
We must not start permanently with a blank page and invent new article designs...

A little problem is, that the Rombachs books only published in Germay (in German). I didn't know, how important are these C64 game guides for the rest of the world!
But some of the translated German game articles have a game rating from "Rombachs C64-Spieleführer" inside.
If we link on this book article, then we must write about it. We use for a book article the book article template or a older finsihed book article.
Alternative we can't link to "Rombachs C64-Spieleführer" in the international C64-Wiki project and so we must not write about the "Rombachs C64-Spieleführer" books.

In some cases it isn't wise to take all the German article contents for the same article in the international C64-Wiki project, but the most translated game articles are 1:1 translations from German C64-Wiki articles.
The most of the started articles of German and English speaking authors are often 1:1 translations.

Camailleon is one of the best translators, we have in our C64-Wiki project, but she can't translate all these German articles.

PS: If you find a bug in a template, so must you edit the bug in the template of an article and the template. After that all other old articles, which have this bug inside.--Jodigi 01:39, 2 September 2014 (CEST)

Actually I was thinking about this several times, whether to keep the internal links to Rombachs C64-Spieleführer or not. But it is a part of the C64 history, so why not? For me the copying of the German content into the English Wiki is one way of saying: "We need this article in the English Wiki" and at the same time it reduces the number of red links. But I also feel that the amount of such untranslated articles should be kept low. Thank you Charliefourzero for doing most of the translation. As an alternative we could put up a page with wishes for the next translations. At the moment I have an own list of articles that I feed my to-do list from and this consists of game articles because they are (most of the time) for me most fun to translate. But to slip in an article or two with other content would not be too bad (if it is not about coding or special hardware, because I have not that much of an English vocabulary in this area).
Thanks to you both for the nice words about my translations - but I think that it can be improved a lot.:) --Camailleon 21:05, 2 September 2014 (CEST)
