OpenCBM is a software package for Windows, macOS, and Linux that interfaces with Commodore-specific serial devices from a PC. It's mostly used with floppy drives like the 1541, but also can access printers or hard drives.

It provides a low-level library and command-line tools for copying data to and from floppies. Other software built on top of OpenCBM includes:

  • CBMXFer GUI
  • nibtools reads/writes images by nibbling, preserving raw GCR. Requires a 1571 or a parallel port added to the 1541.
