I've been using a C64 since Christmas 1986. It was my first computer.

I started with a C64C and tape. Then added a 1541-II a year later, then a C64 as backup machine, a C128 for a short while as well as an Amiga 500 before I switched to PCs in the mid 90s. I learnt how to program on the C64 - first in Basic, then around 1990 in Assembler which I used to write a game and a sprite editor, both submitted to the C64er magazine 2KiB competition. I've later studied computer science, so the C64 had a big impact on my life.

After a long hiatus, I've been using my old C64 again since 2019. It now has a few siblings: The64 (Maxi and Mini) as well as my daily driver, a C64 Ultimate living in the original C64 case.
