Thermal Printer
From C64-Wiki
In opposition to the most Printers, where the print result is archieved by mechanical pressure, a thermal printer"" prints by applying heat.
There are two methonds of printing by using thermal printers.
- The one is printing to special coated paper, which changes its color by applying heat. This is called Thermalaction printing.
- The other method (thermaltransfer printing) works together with a special ribbon, which prints the color where it is heated. It can be used only once.
