Title cover of Happy Computer 02/1984

Happy Computer was a monthly German computer magazine, which was published by Markt & Technik-Verlags in Germany from 1983 (issue 12/1983) until 1990 (issue 02/1990).

The first issue was named Hobby Computer, but another German leisure magazine had a similar title name: "Hobby". As a result this magazine was renamed Happy Computer.

In the beginning the magazine's focus was a mixture of information on many home computer systems and their application range. Also, the readers could send program listings, hints, small advertisements or requests for computer problem solutions to the editorial staff by mail.

An extra game part first appeared in issue 11/1986 and was later renamed "Power Play", which in 1990 grew into a seperate computer game magazine.

Very good and large computer games and applications (sent in by the readers and too large for printing in the magazine) were sold under the label "Happy Software" and later under "Happy Computer" on datasette or floppy disk for a very cheap price.

From issue 03/1990 the magazine's focus changed to a PC magazine named "Computer Live" Language German. "Happy Computer" was canceled with issue 11/1992.
