Golden Joystick Award

The Golden Joystick Award is a British Game Award for computer games and is started in the year 1983. In the last years video game consoles are also awarded and the number of categories rised up. In the first years the awarded categories was:

  • Game of the Year
  • Best Original Game of the Year
  • Adventure Game of the Year
  • Strategy Game of the Year
  • Arcade-Style Game of the Year
  • Programmer of the Year
  • Software House of the Year

Since 1989 was awarded separately for 8-bit and 16-bit games.
