Description[edit | edit source]

Fred must stamp "towers" into the ground by jumping on them. A "square" consisting of four towers automatically disappears in the ground when all four towers have the same height. The slim, high display at the lower left shows, how many levels of each tower need to be reduced or respectively how many are left. It can happen that all possible tower combinations are gone, but they were not high enough.

Fred can only stand on towers, on normal ground he will die. You need to collect energy pills, or else Fred gets sick. Furthermore, there are bonus diamonds to get additional points.

Design[edit | edit source]

... an animation from level 1 ...
... an image from level 3a ...

... level 5a: only 2 groups of four are possible ...
... level 5b: failure in the last second ...

Every level has a fixed screen, there is no scrolling.

Hints[edit | edit source]

  • Every 10.000 points you get an extra life.
  • In higher levels you need to pay attention that there are enough groups of four left, so you can plunge the required number of levels... In level 5a (9) e.g. one can only make two complete groups of four.
  • Together with the short time limit this can end tragically...
  • As you can see, the towers need to sink down BEFORE the time has run out, so you have to have the combination of four ready 2-3 seconds earlier....

Controls

Joystick left, forwards, right and backwards = hop into the corresponding direction
press fire button = stamp down the current tower

Solution[edit | edit source]

Level 1a[edit | edit source]

Level 1a

A very easy level: time limit 99s, 8 levels need to be scuttled.

4 possible combinations, 1.600 potential points. You can concentrate fully on the goodies, sinking the towers down fast gets you less points, as diamonds appear about every 7 seconds and make each 100 points.

Level 1b[edit | edit source]

Level 1b

An easy level: time limit 99s, 10 levels need to be scuttled.

6 possible combinations, 1.600 potential points. You should sink down two combinations right at the beginning, to make sure, that the rest of the towers will reach the maximum height fast enough. Don't forget to collect the diamonds and powerups ...

Level 2a[edit | edit source]

Level 2a

An easy level: time limit 99s, 8 levels need to be scuttled.

3 possible combinations, 1.600 potential points. You should scuttle one combination right at the beginning, to make sure that the rest of the towers will reach the maximum height fast enough.

Level 2b[edit | edit source]

Level 2b

A medium difficult level: time limit 99s, 14 levels need to be scuttled..

6 possible combinations, 1.400 potential points. You should do the four combinations at the rim one after the other to avoid that unreachable towers are left. You best start with the one-level combination at the front left, then make the low combination at the front right and then the ones at the back.

Level 3a[edit | edit source]

Level 3a

A medium difficult level: time limit 99s, 14 levels need to be scuttled.

4 possible combinations, 1.400 potential points. At the beginning, you should sink down the two high combinations from left to right, to make sure that the rest of the towers have enough time to reach the maximum height. Take care that the smaller combinations do not disintegrate of their own. {-}}

Level 3b[edit | edit source]

Level 3b

An easy level: time limit 55s, 8 levels need to be scuttled.

2 possible combinations, 1.200 potential points. You should sink down the low combination at the foreground first, to make sure there is no "wrong" combination forming and that the rest of the towers have enough time to reach the maximum height. After that you can unhurriedly go for the goodies ... and mentally prepare for the next level ...

Level 4a[edit | edit source]

Level 4a

A hard level: time limit 88s, 12 levels need to be scuttled.

4 possible combinations, 1.400 potential points. Similarly to level 2b, you should first sink down the two combinations on one side. Take care that no combination forms by itself unwillingly and sinks down, as then you cannot reach some of the towers. If you don't get all of the powerups you will "die of hunger" very quickly ...

Level 4b[edit | edit source]

Level 4b

A hard level: time limit 77s, 10 levels need to be scuttled.

3 possible combinations, 1.200 potential points. Same here, you should also first sink down the two combinations at the rim. You'd best start with the one at the rear right as the risk to be sunk down yourself is significantly lower. In any case you should avoid that the connecting middle combination sinks down by itself.

Reviews[edit | edit source]

FXXS: "Nice action for in between, difficulty / learning curve are adequate, it motivates again and again to try once more... what a pity that there is no highscore saver... 8 points."
