ACE (Magazine)
ACE (Advanced Computer Entertainment) was a British videogame magazine. ACE was published monthly from October 1980 until June 1989 by Future Publishing Ltd. and from July 1989 to April 1992 by EMAP Images. Its highest circulation was in April 1991 with close to 50,000 copies for that month. The last two issues included a 3.5" floppy disk with games for PC, Amiga and Atari ST.
The articles and tests were mostly for the Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC. There were also reports about new computer systems and game developments. Although the main focus of the magazine was computer games, it also included articles on computer graphics and music. Reports regarding the C64 ceased from issue May 1991 onwards, with articles for handhelds and consoles replacing them.
Sometimes ACE was bundled with free cover datasettes and floppy disks, which included game demos.
